Plan Review

Public Comments

In October 2014, the Pinelands Commission issued its fourth, in-depth report on the agency's implementation of the Pinelands Comprehensive Management Plan (CMP), the rules that govern land-use, development and natural resource protection programs in the Pinelands Area.

The issuance of the report marked the culmination of the Commission's fourth review of the CMP. The Commission embarked on the review in June 2012. Since that time, the Commission formed a Plan Review Committee that was composed of five Commission members. The Committee met regularly and provided a forum for discussing measures aimed at improving the CMP. It gathered comments from 109 groups or individuals during two public hearings and 2 1/2-month public comment period. (The public comments can be accessed below).

The review is required by law, and provides a key opportunity for the Commission to chart and evaluate its implementation of the CMP.

The fourth Plan Review Report and the recommendations it contains will be invaluable as the Commission considers future actions that will strengthen the CMP and advance the Commission's mission to preserve the Pinelands.
