New Jersey Extends Filing Deadlines for Businesses Affected by March 2018 Storms

New Jersey is extending tax filing deadlines for businesses and tax professionals affected by two winter storms. The storms – Quinn and Skylar – struck the United States in March 2018.

Partnerships and S-Corporations that couldn’t file returns by the regular due date of March 15, 2018, can request an automatic extension. These businesses must file for an extension on or before Tuesday, March 20, 2018.

This extension only applies to the filing of tax returns – not to making a payment. To avoid potential penalties, tax due must have been remitted by the original due date of March 15, 2018.

In granting these extensions, New Jersey is following federal Internal Revenue Service guidelines. If the IRS changes its deadline, New Jersey expects to revise its requirements as well.

Please monitor this website regularly because we may post updates and other information about filing and paying under this extension.
