The available 2021 data is based on the crash reports that were submitted by the Police Departments and were entered into the Accident Record Database as of October 26, 2023.

The data captured on the New Jersey Police Crash Investigation Report form (NJTR-1) is used in developing safety programs, grant applications, resource allocation and statistical analysis by the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) as well as many other agencies.

The data is available as crash statistics, crash rates and as summary reports.

• Cell Phone Usage Statistics by severities that include total, fatal and injury crash data by county from 2002 to the most recent year available.

• Crash Rates for State and Interstate Highways by Route Number for the most recent 13 years available.
• Crash Rates information by severities from 2001 to the most recent year available. (excludes Private Property; United States Government Property; State, Park or Institutions and County/Municipal Authority, Park or Institution).
• Crash Rates by Cross-section Geometry from 2006 to the most recent year available.
• Crash Rates for State and Interstate Highways by Route Number, Milepost and Cross-section Geometry from 2001 to the most recent year available.
