Light Permits


Light permits are issued to authorize the use of colored strobe, LED or rotating beacon warning lights.  The MVC issues three types of warning and emergency light permits: red, blue and amber.

Amber Warning Light Permit

Beginning February 1, 2009, a $25 fee payment is due for each vehicle.

Red and Blue Emergency Light Permits are free of charge.

The MVC issues these permits specifically for the Emergency Service that is being provided, therefore, you must complete and submit the appropriate application.
