This training video highlights and outlines steps to take in CDRSS utilizing the reports function to help with the process of linking outbreak/investigation cases to their designated E/I numbers in CDRSS. 

The Regional Epidemiology Program (REP) hosts Communicable Disease Forums as an opportunity to exchange information on communicable diseases and outbreak investigations throughout the State – between the Communicable Disease Service, local health departments, hospitals, and other public health partners. These meetings are open to everyone working on communicable diseases and outbreaks, including communicable disease investigators, public health nurses, epidemiologists, health officers, infection preventionists, and registered environmental health specialists. Forums are held in-person in several public health regions or via webinar. Registration information is posted on NJLMN. Webinars are recorded and can be accessed under CDS Training Resources.

The New Jersey Department of Health Vaccine Preventable Disease Program developed an adolescent immunization presentation template titled, “Dose of Prevention: Vaccines to Help You Stay Healthy during Adolescence”.  This presentation includes speaker notes and a corresponding pre/post-test with an answer key. Please feel free to review the materials and adapt them as you deem fit for your respective audiences. Ideas for implementation include incorporating this presentation into health education classes, youth afterschool groups, parent groups, and other settings where there are opportunities to speak with preteens and teens. The New Jersey Department of Health, Perinatal Hepatitis B Prevention Program (PHBPP) regularly conducts webinars for local health department staff.  These webinars typically review the guidelines for perinatal hepatitis B case management and provide an overview of hepatitis B vaccination recommendations.

The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) Communicable Disease Service (CDS) is collaborating with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) Project Firstline, a national initiative designed to provide trainings and additional education and tools regarding infection prevention and control practices to frontline healthcare workers. The goal is to provide foundational knowledge of infection prevention and control measures and emphasize the importance of implementing these protocols throughout the workday to ensure best practice in healthcare settings. This initiative aims to help every healthcare worker gain confidence to apply infection prevention and control principles in their work setting to protect themselves, their patients and the community from infectious disease threats.
