“I am pleased to announce that the Communications Workers of America has ratified an agreement with the State that will save over $100 million through employee furloughs and by deferring cost-of-living adjustments for employees. As we face the unique and unparalleled challenges created by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this agreement will provide critical cost savings for the state while minimizing the financial impact on employees. I would like to thank the CWA leadership and members for their willingness to negotiate in good faith with the state. Together, we have reached the best possible outcome for our state, our workers, and our taxpayers.”
